Hey guys! I wanted to start my day off with baking a healthy but super delicious brownie recipe. These are so easy to make too. What’s better than that?!
I love finding new ways to make my favorite foods and I am trying to do this more often.
I had 3 VERY ripe bananas in my fridge that I needed to use and what better way than to make some brownies.
Make sure to mash the bananas very well. You want little to no chunks here. I decided to use a hand mixer to speed up the process but you don’t have to. A fork works just as well!
Then mix in your other ingredients.
Feel free to add in a little sweetener, chocolate chips, or more peanut butter swirls if you’d like!
Bananas are already super sweet but the dark cacao was very overpowering. I was going to add in honey but Tom isn’t a fan haha. I opted for 2 packed TBSP of brown sugar instead. You can leave this out if you’d like and just use the first 3-ingredients. They will come out just as delicious!
These are not a normal brownie texture. I’d say more on the fudgy side or like the packaged brownies we used to eat as kids with the sprinkles on top!
When everything is all mixed together, pour into a greased baking dish. I used mu square one for a slightly “thicker” brownie. The thicker the brownie, the longer it may need in the oven. I used a fork to check the done-ness but a toothpick works just as well.
3-Ingredient Fudge Brownies
Ingredients
- 3 Large VERY over ripe bananas
- ½ Cup Natural peanut butter or any nut butter
- ½ Cup Dark Cacao Powder
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Optional
- A pinch of pink salt Optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Prepare a greased baking dish.
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl until you have little to no chunks left. You can use a hand mixer like I did to speed up the process but a fork works just as good.
- Add in the other ingredients and stir until combined well.
- Stir in any add in's like chocolate chips or walnuts. Optional!
- Pour batter into the greased baking dish and spread out evenly. You can use this time to swirl in melted peanut butter if you'd like 🙂
- Bake for 20-25 min or until toothpick/fork come out clean.
- Let cool completely before cutting or they will fall apart. They are VERY fudgy.
- Store in an air-tight container in the fridge.
If you need a little more time in the oven, add about 2-3 minutes at a time before checking. Mine took about 25 min to bake.
Life hack: Use a chunky peanut butter so you don’t have to do any add ins lol. You can also use any nut butter you like. It doesn’t have to be peanut butter 🙂
These are the perfect treat to have in the house. Definitely for those sweet tooth moments!
