Good morning guys! I wanted to take a minute and pause the camping blog to write this one for you guys!
Yesterday, I posted part 2 of the camping prep guide. You can find part 1 here, and part 2 here! These are the things Tommy and I bought to prep for our camping trips.
Now to the blog! I finally hopped on the new Dalgona coffee trend that everyone was raving about for the last couple months. I don’t go out of my way to try things often either. We had a ton of instant coffee left over from our camping trip this past weekend, I needed a little pick-me-up so I figured why not!
Dalgona coffee is super easy to make and takes about 5 minutes….
I’ll be honest with you though. I probably will only make this once in a blue moon because it’s a process and I like to just pour some milk and sugar in my coffee and go.
I do like that I can make the Dalgona coffee with almond milk and it actually tastes good compared to when I tried it in my regular coffee lol. So if you are a non-dairy kind of person like me… Dalgona coffee might be a great option for you!
I also decided to whip mine in a small bowl in the sink…. I didn’t want to clean up coffee/sugar everywhere and I’m glad I listened to myself this time.
Dalgona Coffee
Ingredients
- 1 heaping tbsp instant coffee I used Folgers classic roast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp hot water
- 8 oz milk dairy or non-dairy
Instructions
- Using a hand mixer on high or something similar, mix together instant coffee, sugar, and hot water for about 3-5 min until foamy and stiff peaks form
- Pour milk into a glass with ice if you'd like
- Top milk with whipped part.
- Take unnecessary amount of pictures….
- Stir the whipped part into the milk
- Enjoy!
Dalgona coffee does have a bitter taste to it. Every recipe I found called for 2 tbsp of everything and considering that 1 tbsp of coffee is a serving size and I never use that much sugar in my coffee to begin with, I took the initiative to split the recipe in half. It worked out in my favor lol.
Make sure you actually mix the Dalgona coffee whip into the milk before drinking it or you’ll be in for a very bitter surprise. I feel like most people just post the pretty pictures of this drink and neglect to say you have to mix it all together lol.
Questions for you!
1. Have you tried this coffee trend yet?
2. Were you a fan?
3. What’s your favorite way to drink coffee?
