Hi guys welcome back to the blog! I am making some changes around here and I took some time away to focus on my own health and healing. I spoke about it on here a few times about healing my gut, chronic infections, and it honestly took a huge toll on my mental health. So I took this time to really focus on healing from the inside out and I have seen some progress and other days it feels like my patience is out, anxiety and stress are high, and I feel at my absolute lowest. Patience is a major part of this and I am learning to have more of it, keep the faith all is working out even if I can’t see any results yet, and trusting to keep going.
I have created a lifestyle that is so nourishing for me mind, body, and soul and I wanted to share more of that with you. I have been doing a series this entire month of June on living a slow beauty, more holistic lifestyle. That being said, I will be doing more on the blog in this direction because we only get one body and it’s so important to take care of it and trust that it can heal over time with the right tools. Just a disclaimer, I also recommend working with your doctors if you have a serious health concern. These tips are helpful in addition to treatments but I will let you make that decision for yourself.
I have made many changes over the years to switch to a more holistic, chemical free, natural lifestyle and I continue to do so daily. The work is never over. It’s a journey and a beautiful one at that.
A couple new things I have been incorporating in my days on are castor oil packs and a raw carrot salad specific for a candida overgrowth within the gut. I have an appt to see a GI dr very soon so hopefully that will give me more answers instead of hoping I am on the right track. You want a castor oil that is organic, hexane-free, cold-pressed, and in a glass bottle! I cannot stress the importance of quality here enough.
This is the one I have, use, and love.
Castor-oil packs are so beneficial but if you are pregnant do not use one! They can induce labor. You can do more research on them but the packs are especially helpful if you are healing your liver or gut lining and have a candida overgrowth as they can help take down the biofilm.
The raw carrot salad is honestly such a treat to me but I love carrots lol. This also helps your body rid itself of excess estrogen (same as the castor-oil pack) and it helps get rid of anything that does not belong in your gut especially if you suffer from a candida overgrowth. I will eat this daily and my symptoms will 9/10 disappear. Consistency is key and I am definitely learning that.
I also apologize for the poor quality carrot photo. I never remember to snap a pic and this was from my IG lol.
To make this, use raw whole organic carrots ONLY. Shred them longways, add in 1 tsp organic unrefined coconut oil, and 1 tsp ACV with the mother. Organic is important because you want to be ridding your body of toxins and things, not adding to it with chemicals and a ton of pesticides. Just mix them together and BAM, a yummy little treat. Eat this on an empty stomach. Mornings are best but I typically eat mine in the middle of the day or evening prior to dinner.
I have so many Monthly Favorites blogs about products I use and I will continue to update on the ones I currently use and love going forward and working with more non-toxic brands that I love to find you guys the best out there as well as nourishing recipes!
I hope you all have the best day and rest of your week! Can you believe it’s almost July?! Where did the time go??
