These cold days here have me in such the holiday baking mood. I’m using this time as a head start on the season festivities. Anyone else?
This apple crisp came out perfect! Most of the time apple crisp does not require nutmeg.. you can leave it out but it really brings the fall flavors to a whole new level. I recommend keeping it in the recipe!
A lot of other times I find that apple crisps never have a lot of cinnamon and I get it.. Cinnamon can be overpowering BUT hear me out. Add the extra dash lol. I went for it and it turned out better than ever.
You can also sub the butter for 1/2 room temp-solid coconut oil. I planned to but I didn’t have enough sooo butter it was!

Notes
Honestly guys, this was one of the most tasty dessert’s I’ve made so far. There’s something about warm apples and a good crumble. The nutmeg and cinnamon really bring the flavors together.
You can eat this as is or top with some vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream.
Don’t forget to tag me in your pics when you make this! I love seeing your creations.
