Happy Saturday guys! Today is a busy day but I wanted to get at least one recipe up this week before everything starts for me.
I made these chicken burgers last week and they came out so good! I am definitely making them again. Since I am pretty much all dairy free, I try not to add cheese to my burgers so mine were pretty plain. I suggest adding whatever toppings you enjoy! I added avocado for some creaminess but the burgers themselves are super flavorful, they were delicious plain!
I actually dipped mine in an Italian dressing which I definitely recommend.
To make these gluten free, sub with a gluten free breadcrumb OR a GF plain cereal crumbled up like Chex. When I start eliminating gluten I plan to use that as a sub.
Easy Italian Chicken Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 lbs Ground Chicken
- ¼ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Ground black pepper
- ½ tbsp Garlic powder
- ½ tbsp Parsley
- ½ tbsp Onion Powder
- 3 Fresh Basil leaves (chopped) or sub for dried basil
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients EXCEPT breadcrumbs.
- Sprinkle in bread crumbs little at a time and mix thoroughly. You may not need the full cup or you might need more. You don't want a super dry burger but enough to keep it together.
- Form the meat into patties and prep a skillet with apprx 1 tbsp EVOO, non-stick spray, or heat your grill.
- Cook the burgers on both sides over medium heat until well done. I use a meat thermometer so I don't over cook here. Apprx 5-6 min each side.
- Prep buns and toppings while burgers cook.
- Enjoy! Add a tbsp of Italian dressing to dip in on the side.
I will totally top these bad boys with fresh mozz, fresh basil, and tomato next time!!
I actually ended up putting the summer squash on my burger and it was delish. I picked this one from my garden a little too soon so it was a little green inside lol. It still tasted great!
Ps. There is no such thing as too much avocado….
Enjoy guys!!
